LIFE TEEN back for 2020!

Who’s ready for Life Teen? We will be kicking-off our 2020 Life Nights on January 26th with a social night! Let’s make this our largest Life Night yet, bring your friends. Thank you to all the teens who came out to our social night last Sunday. We had a wonderful time, and cannot wait for what is to come this semester. As a reminder Life Nights are now from 4pm7pm. Upcoming Cluster E-Newsletter

Upcoming Cluster Newsletter As you may know we are planning on launching a cluster newsletter as way of building community and bridging all three parishes in our cluster. To clarify, this newsletter will be sent out via e-mail. This is a great way to stay informed and go green! The newsletter will be sent at the beginning of each month announcing events, volunteer opportunities, parish updates, fun facts, etc. You can register to receive this cluster newsletter by sending your email and request to either Maria or the parish office.

Pastoral Council for the Cluster

Now that the New Year, 2020 is upon us, it is time to engage in planning for the future. We have long postponed the formation of a Pastoral Council for the Parish Cluster. We hope to have a minimum of three council members from each of our three parishes. The council will meet monthly, beginning, we hope in February. If you are interested in serving on this council, please advise Fr. Washabaugh by calling or sending a message to the parish office. This will start a process of discernment that may lead to your fuller involvement in this important group.

CCD Classes!

CCD Begins This Sunday, January 12th! For any parent who cannot make it to either of these meetings due to the St. Joseph’s Feast of the Lord’s Baptism celebration, or work, please get in contact with Maria Junco at mfja35@gmail.com. Sunday, January 12th, CCD will begin! We will meet in the Sts. Peter & Paul hall and classes will begin at 9:45am. As a reminder we also have parent meetings Sunday, January 12th at 9:45 (same time as ccd) or Monday, January 13th at 6pm at SSPP hall.

Ash Wednesday is on February 26, the solemn inauguration of our 40 day season of spiritual renewal. May this Lent be both comfort us and challenge us as we prepare to celebrate the Easter mysteries of Christ’s death and resurrection and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. We accompany catechumens and members of the baptized who are completing their sacramental initiation. With them, we study the Scriptures and our tradition. Financial Responsibility As with many older congregations, our three parishes are surviving because of financial reserves. None of our three cluster parishes is presently able to balance annual income with expenses, but all three parishes need to achieve this balance. A great celebration took place at St. Mary’s last Sunday on the Feast of the Epiphany. Families and children from our three parishes gathered, first for a multicultural Mass – The Three Kings joined us! – and then at a great party. More than 200 children took part. We took up a collection to help poor and hungry children in La Gonave in Haiti. Thanks so much for donations amounting to $1861.80! We particularly thank the organizers and workers who made the party possible.
