Maria, who is young, eager, and ready, brings a wealth of talents and skills to a critical task in our parishes as we strive to become a missionary Church that evangelizes the society around us as it nourishes its own members. This past Sunday I had the privilege of preaching the missionary coop appeal for our own Outreach to Haiti. The priests and people of Holy Redeemer Parish who welcomed me with exceptional hospitality, send to our three parishes greeting and prayers. As we pray together, we intercede for deeper respect for every human life, for peace in the world, for our Church, and for the needs of our families and friends.
