Dec. 2 through Dec. 10: Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church
Saturday, December 8, Feast of The ImmaculateConception of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Under this title, Our Blessed Mother is patroness of the United States. Because of this, December 8 remains a holy day of obligation, even though it is on a Saturday.
Dec. 11, Mananitas: English and Spanish, at St. Mary’s, starting at 9:30 p.m. It is a long tradition in Mexico and elsewhere to begin the celebration of Mary’s feast on the night before with prayer, song, and the sharing of food / friendship. The Mananitas will begin with the rosary, offered this year for the many needs of God’s people here, in Latin America, and throughout the world, followed by a presentation of the story of Our Lady’s appearance at Tepeyac in Mexico. We will join in traditional songs to Mary and share refreshments as well.
Wednesday, December 12, Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas and of the Pro - Life Movement Dec. 2 through Dec. 10: Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church Dec. 11, Mananitas, multilingual at 9:30 p.m., at St.Mary’s. Dec. 12, Bi-lingual Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral, 7:00 p.m., followed by a fiesta with Mexican cuisine.
December 16 -24 Las Posadas, Prayer services in Spanish
December 22, 10 a.m., Advent Penance Service, multicultural, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
