Food Items Needed

Due to the enormous impact of COVID-19, local aid stations are in need of resources to help those in need. Not everyone has received stimulus checks or unemployment compensation, and as time goes on, the need will grow. You can drop off at the entrance to church non-perishable food items and baby items (diapers and wipes) for St. Vincent de Paul Place and Catholic Charities. Monetary gifts clearly marked for local charity should be placed in the collection basket or mailed to the parish office. Stay up to date on needed items by visiting St. Vincent de Paul Place web page.  Thanks!

Are You in Need of Support?

These are times of unprecedented stress for us all!   If you are in need of support from your Church, physical, social, SPIRITUAL, or financial, please give a call!   We pledge to help in any way we can.   Call 860-281-2595.

2020-2021 Catechism: Registration is Open

The 2020-2021 Religious Education program will begin on Sunday, October 18th. We will continue to follow guidelines to make sure students, parents, and catechists stay safe and healthy. The curriculum will change slightly in order to be more flexible in the case of a future closure. This year we want to focus on family faith formation because ultimately parents/guardians are the true catechists in their children’s lives. You can register by clicking here to fill out the online form or you print the form from our website and email/mail it to the Church Rectory. If you do not have access to any online form you can call the parish rectory and register over the phone. We encourage parents and guardians to register their children as soon as possible so we can order material, plan for classroom set up, and answer any questions you may have. We thank you for your patience and understanding. We can't wait to get back into the classroom!

Interested Catechists

Our Faith Formation Program would be incomplete without our wonderful catechists and volunteers who said “yes” to their call to share their faith to our church community. “Catechists” not only teach children but they can teach adults, families, and teens. Time commitments vary from once a month, bi-weekly, and weekly sessions. If you feel like God is calling you to share your faith in the same way, please reach out to Maria Junco at (860) 319-4042 or call the Parish office.

Celebrate Seasons of Creation With Us! September 1st- October 4th

What is the season of creation?                                                                                 The Season of Creation is an annual celebration of prayer and action to protect creation. It runs from September 1 to October 4.
What is this year’s theme?                                                                                          The 2020 Season of Creation theme is “Jubilee for the Earth: New Rhythms, New Hope.”
Why participate?                                                                                                                              This year, amid crises that have shaken our world, we’re awakened to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and each other.  During the season this year, we enter a time of restoration and hope, a jubilee for our Earth that requires radically new ways of living with creation.
How is this year’s celebration different?                                                                              This particular year, the need for just and sustainable systems has been revealed by the far-reaching effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common role as caretakers of God’s creation. We rejoice in this opportunity to care for our common home and the sisters and brothers who share it.
What can we expect this month?                                                                                    The Office of Faith Events will be providing resources and spiritual activities throughout the month.  Every Saturday we will send out a summary of the week’s themes as well as reflection questions for the week.  On Wednesday, our Faith and Hope Video Series, will focus on a topic from the Seasons of Creation series.
We hope you will join us in prayer, reflection and action this month!
