Guidelines for Attending Sunday Mass

Those who are sick or symptomatic must stay home. At Saints. Peter & Paul Church, a maximum of 70 people can gather at each of our two Sunday Masses. Face masks are mandated. Maintain a 6 ft. radius of distance from all those who are not in the same household.  A large basket will be placed in the middle of the center aisle for your offerings.  People should make sure to leave little by little, maintaining social distance.

Sunday Masses!

If you can’t physically attend Sunday Mass because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the canonical obligation to attend Sunday Mass is temporarily suspended. Nevertheless, the obligation to worship the Lord on Sunday remains.  If you cannot come to church for Mass on Sunday because of health concerns, take time at home to pray. Make a “Holy Hour” with the Lord. The Spanish 10:00 a.m. Mass will continue to be live-streamed and the 8:30 a.m. Mass will be recorded from St. Joseph Church and later posted on our cluster website.

Prayer for Our Faithful Departed
Monday, November 2 is All Souls' Day (Commemoration of the Faithful Departed).  Masses in our Parish Cluster:
  • 8:30 a.m. St. Joseph Church (English)
  • 6:30 p.m. St. Mary Church (Spanish and Haitian Creole)
On that day and at all Masses in November, we will be remembering the faithful departed of our parishes and our families.  A Book of Commemoration with the names of our loved ones will be placed near the altar.  Please write the names of those you wish to have remembered in our November prayers on your All Souls' Day envelope and place it in the offering basket on or before Sunday, Oct. 25.Late-comers are encouraged to contact us before Wednesday.

The 40 Days for Life Campaign runs from Wednesday, Sept. 23rd through November 1st. It is hoped that you will join our Parish by signing up to Peacefully Pray OUTSIDE the planned parenthood facility at 12 Case St. in Norwich Oct 27th. Sign -up sheets and a statement of peace are at the church doors.
 
October is Rosary Month, every Tuesday at 3pm during the month of October, come pray the rosary online with the Office of Faith Events of the Diocese of Norwich.  CLICK HERE at 3pm on Tuesday to connect. 
Saint Vincent de Paul Place's community meals program increased 26% since the COVID-19 shut down began and our food pantry sign ups have increased 31%We have not missed a day or a meal since the shutdown. On the 16th day of September, we distributed a record 8,134 meals. The increase in need from the pandemic grows daily. We rely on your donations to continue this work. Pro Life Mass The monthly Diocesan Pro-Life Mass will take place at The Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Saturday, November 7 at 8:30 A.M. Please join our celebrant Rev. Ray Introvigne at Mass as we pray to end abortion and for the healing for those who have had an abortion. Following the Mass, the Rosary will be prayed both at the Cathedral and Planned Parenthood.
As we start this last week in October let us not forget that caring for creation/ living sustainably is also something we are all called to do. In Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Laudato Si’  he “urges the worlds 1.2 billion Catholics and all people of good will to take action against the injustice of climate change and the ecological crisis, to protect the poor and future generations” (Global Catholic Climate Movement).  We cannot take action if we do not understand the problem, to learn more about climate change click here and to learn more about Pop Francis’ encyclical click here.

Catechism  2020-2021 Update  

Due to the continued closure of in person classes in the city of Norwich, we have pushed back our start of classes to Sunday, November 1st. If you have already registered your child please make sure we have the most current contact information. We will continue to update you all on classes as more information is made available. Please continue to pray for the children and our catechists of our cluster so we may be able to have a fun and safe catechetical year.

Si no puedes asistir físicamente a la eucaristía dominical debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, la obligación canónica de asistir a la eucaristía dominical se suspende temporalmente. Sin embargo, la obligación de adorar al Señor el domingo permanece. Haga una "hora santa" con el Señor. El lunes 2 de noviembre es el Día de los Difuntos (Conmemoración de los Fieles Difuntos). El horario para las eucaristías de este dia en nuestro Cluster Parroquial:

Ese día y en todas las eucaristías de noviembre, estaremos recordando a los fieles difuntos de nuestras parroquias y nuestras familias. Cerca del altar se colocará un Libro de Conmemoración con los nombres de nuestros seres queridos. Escriba los nombres de las personas que desea recordar en nuestras oraciones de noviembre en su sobre del Día de los Difuntos y colóquelo en la canasta de ofrendas el domingo 25 de octubre o antes.

¡Nuestro programa de pastoral juvenil comenzará junto con nuestro programa de catecismo! Invitamos a los adolescentes en los grados 8-12 a que vengan a construir una comunidad, aprendan sobre lo que significa ser católico y ¡DIVERTIRSE! El programa de comidas comunitarias de Saint Vincent de Paul aumentó un 26% desde que comenzó el cierre de COVID-19 y nuestras inscripciones en la despensa de alimentos aumentaron un 31%. No nos hemos perdido ni un día ni una comida desde el cierre. El día 16 de septiembre distribuimos un récord de 8.134 comidas. El aumento de las necesidades por la pandemia crece día a día. Misa Pro-Vida

La Misa Diocesana Pro-Vida mensual se llevará a cabo en la Catedral de San Patricio en Norwich el sábado 7 de noviembre a las 8:30 A.M. Únase a nuestro celebrante Rev. Ray Introvigne en la Misa mientras oramos para poner fin al aborto y por la curación de quienes han tenido un aborto. Después de la Misa, se rezará el Rosario tanto en la Catedral como en Planned Parenthood.
 

Cuarenta Días por la Vida

La Campaña 40 Días por la Vida se lleva a cabo desde el miércoles 23 de septiembre hasta el 1 de noviembre. Se espera que se una a nuestra parroquia inscribiéndose en una oración pacifica en las afueras de la instalaciones de la clinica de  de paternidad planificada en la 12 Case St. en Norwich el 27 de octubre, tenemos una hoja para inscribirse en la entrada principal de la iglesia. tambien puede visitar la pagina web:

Mensage Especial

Al comenzar esta última semana de octubre, no olvidemos que cuidar la creación / vivir de manera sostenible también es algo que todos estamos llamados a hacer. En la encíclica del Papa Francisco Laudato Si ', él "insta a los 1.200 millones de católicos del mundo y a todas las personas de buena voluntad a actuar contra la injusticia del cambio climático y la crisis ecológica, para proteger a los pobres y a las generaciones futuras" (Global Catholic Climate Movement ).
