Catechism    2020-2021 Update  

Catechism classes for St. Joseph and Sts. Peter & Paul Church ( grades 1-7) will be ONLINE indefinitely until the heating system gets fixed in the St. Joseph Rectory. Catechists will be reaching out to parents directly to send the class links. Classes will being at 11a.m. to allow time for families attending Mass in person to make it home.  "As a reminder, registration fees are due by Sunday, November 15th." If you have any questions please reply to this email or reach out directly to Maria Junco. Please continue to pray for our children and catechists as we begin a new catechetical year. 
 

 VIRTUAL Confirmation Class

Due to the state of CT going back to phase 2 restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 we will be having Confirmation class online. Please let us know when you would like to pick up your child's book. If you have any questions please reply back to this email or reach out to Maria Junco directly. "

40 hours of Devotion

 It is time! It is past time for us to gather before Our Savior in the Blessed Sacrament to seek grace and favor, strength, and healing in this time of need. The Coronavirus pandemic has separated discouraged us.  People ask, “How long will this go on? How long can we hold on?” Here is an invitation to come to Christ in solemn adoration.  Come to St. Joseph Church on December 4, 5, and 6th with your burdens and your need. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be held throughout these days. The Sacraments of Reconciliation (confessions), Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Mass will be offered each day along with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.  Look for announcements of special times of prayer in the various languages of our parish cluster.  Our devotion will have a solemn closing in Polish and English, presided by Msgr. Leszek T. Janik, Vicar General of the diocese, and past pastor of St. Joseph and Sts. Peter and Paul Churches.

                     Bereavement Day of Prayer 

 The Diocesan Catholic Family Services Office is sponsoring a virtual workshop for the bereaved entitled: Praying Your Goodbyes on Saturday, November 21 from 10 A.M. to 12:15 P.M.  It will include time for private reflection, prayer and journaling and give participants suggestions on how to navigate the upcoming holidays and discover ways to grow through the experience of their loss. There is no cost, but registration is required by contacting Mary-Jo McLaughlin at Catholic Family Services, 860-848-2237, ext. 312 or by email at mmclaughlin@norwichdiocese.net.

Virtual Project Rachel Rosary
The third Tuesday of each month at 3pm, come and pray the Project Rachel Rosary online with the Office of Faith Events.  The Project Rachel Rosary focuses on putting an end to abortion and healing for those who have been involved in an abortion.  Our first Rosary will begin on November 17th.

Diocesan Advent Mission
The Office of Faith Events is offering a virtual Diocesan Advent Mission. It will take place the first three Thursdays in December at 7 P.M. beginning on December 3rd. The mission will focus on three of the themes of Advent: Patience, Love and Peace. There is no cost to participate in the Advent Mission, but registration is required. Diocese of Norwich Outreach to Haiti Ministry is launching its first ever For the Love of a Child Raffle.  Tickets are limited to only 400 and are on sale now for $100 each. The only prize to be awarded is a Grand Prize of $10,000 and there are only 40 tickets still available! The raffle drawing will take place Noon, Nov. 27, at the Outreach Office in Norwich – just in time for Black Friday shopping. Guidelines Sunday Mass

Those who are sick or symptomatic must stay home. At Saints. Peter & Paul Church, a maximum of 70 people can gather at each of our two Sunday Masses. Face masks are mandated. Maintain a 6 ft. radius of distance from all those who are not in the same household.  A large basket will be placed in the middle of the center aisle for your offerings.  People should make sure to leave little by little, maintaining social distance.
 
If you can’t physically attend Sunday Mass because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the canonical obligation to attend Sunday Mass is temporarily suspended. Nevertheless, the obligation to worship the Lord on Sunday remains.  If you cannot come to church for Mass on Sunday because of health concerns, take time at home to pray. Make a “Holy Hour” with the Lord. The Spanish 10:00 a.m. Mass will continue to be live-streamed and the 8:30 a.m. Mass will be recorded from St. Joseph Church and later posted on our cluster website

Pro Life Mass  The monthly Diocesan Pro-Life Mass will take place at The Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Saturday, November 7 at 8:30 A.M. Please join our celebrant Rev. Ray Introvigne at Mass as we pray to end abortion and for the healing for those who have had an abortion. Following the Mass, the Rosary will be prayed both at the Cathedral and Planned Parenthood.  
Virtual Project Rachel Rosary

Saint Vincent de Paul Place's community meals program increased 26% since the COVID-19 shutdown began and our food pantry sign-ups have increased by 31%.  The increase in need from the pandemic grows daily. Misa Dominical

Si no puedes asistir físicamente a la eucaristía dominical debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, la obligación canónica de asistir a la eucaristía dominical se suspende temporalmente. Sin embargo, la obligación de adorar al Señor el domingo permanece. Haga una "hora santa" con el Señor. La eucaristía se puede ver el domingo por la mañana a las 10:00 a.m. por nuestra pagina de Facebook vinculada aquí.

Ministerio Juvenil

¡Nuestro programa de pastoral juvenil comenzará junto con nuestro programa de catecismo! Invitamos a los adolescentes en los grados 8-12 a que vengan a construir una comunidad, aprendan sobre lo que significa ser católico y ¡DIVERTIRSE! Nuestra fecha tentativa de inicio para el evento social de inicio es el domingo 8 de noviembre a las 4 p.m. en la iglesia de St. Mary. Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de la Providencia

Con gran gozo deseamos invitar a toda la comunida para celebrar la Fiesta en Honor a nuestra Señora de la Providencia, el día 19 de Noviembre, a las 6:30 p.m. Como preparacion a esta celebración tendremos un triduo el 16, 17 y 18 de noviembre a las 6:30 p.m. Todo se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia Saint Mary. Los esperamos a Todos!!!

40 Horas de Adoración

¡Es hora! Ya es hora de que nos reunamos ante Nuestro Salvador en el Santísimo Sacramento para buscar gracia y favor, fuerza y sanidad en este momento de necesidad. La pandemia del Coronavirus nos ha separado desanimados. La gente pregunta: “¿Cuánto tiempo durará esto? ¿Cuánto tiempo podemos aguantar? He aquí una invitación a venir a Cristo en solemne adoración. Ven a la Iglesia de San José el 4, 5 y 6 de diciembre con tus cargas y tu necesidad. La exposición del Santísimo Sacramento se llevará a cabo durante estos días. Los sacramentos de la reconciliación (confesiones), la unción de los enfermos y la santa misa se ofrecerán todos los días junto con la bendición del santísimo sacramento. Busque anuncios de momentos especiales de oración en los distintos idiomas de nuestro grupo parroquial. Nuestra devoción tendrá una clausura solemne en polaco e inglés, presidida por Mons Lezik Janik, Vicario General de la diócesis y ex párroco de San José y los Santos. Iglesias de San Pedro y San Pablo.

Deseamos exender nuestro agradecimiento a la hermandad de San Martín de Porres por su generosidad y por hacer de esta devoción a este gran santo un motivo de celebración,que San Martín desde el cielo nos siga acompañando e interceda por nuestra Parroquia, para que seamos unidos, humildes y siervos fieles del Señor.
